Companioning
is our vital work

Dry Bones is a long-standing community of support among Denver’s unhoused teens and young adults. We have the simple but radical belief that companionship itself can be profoundly transformative. So alongside helping to meet emotional, spiritual, and physical needs, our true work is practicing the way of Jesus through building ongoing relationships that remind the invisible among us of their immeasurable worth.

There were bones all over the plain—dry bones, bleached by the sun. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

Ezekiel 37:1-3

God, the Master, told the dry bones, “Watch this: I’m bringing the breath of life to you and you’ll come to life. ”

Ezekiel 37:5-6

We don't
get results

You probably don’t measure your friendships by their results, and neither do we. We believe that people are not projects, and we offer our help with simple respect and friendship.

And the results?

They can be life-changing.

People Aren't
Projects

The unhoused among us are often either invisible or — if seen at all — seen as projects or problems to be fixed-up or ‘solved’ to fit society’s expectations.

We work to see all people as people. Which is a simple idea with radical consequences.

We're No Experts

And even after 20yrs of forming lasting relationships on the streets, we’re still learning everyday. So we don’t have a pre-made, one-size-fits all assembly-line system to ‘save’ the homeless.

Instead, we simply dwell in the messy, complicated, and time-consuming space among our friends ready to be there when needed.
